It’s designed for young people aged 16 – 17 (up to 24 years for those requiring additional support).

Alternatively, if you reach age 18 after 1 July and before first Monday in September, you will be allowed to join Skills for Life & Work programme, providing you start during the first week of September immediately after your 18th birthday.

Apprencticeships NI.

The Apprenticeships NI programme offers training, across a wide range of apprenticeships, to people aged 16 and over. Terms and conditions apply if you are 25 years and over so make sure to reach out and enquire about your circumstances.

As an apprentice you will be a new or existing employee, in a Northern Ireland-based company, working with experienced staff to learn and develop your skills.

An apprentice also receives ‘off-the-job’ training, usually on a day-release basis with a training supplier, to work towards achieving vocational qualifications and Essential Skills qualifications (reading, writing, maths and computers).
